Say hello the BLT, a trio of 3 animals that formed the most unlikeliest of friendships. They have been the best of friends for over 15 years at the Noah’s Ark Animal sanctuary in Locust Grove Georgia. You’re probably wondering why the trio is nicknamed BLT I bet? BLT Stands for Bear, Lion Tiger:
Leo the Lion, Baloo the Black Bear, and Shere Khan the Bengal Tiger were rescued from a life of abuse at the hands of an Atlanta Georgia drug dealer when they were just months old. They were kept locked up in a basement and were extremely malnourished and wounded. Baloo the bear was by far the worst of the three. They kept a harness on the bear and didn’t take it off as he grew. It caused a terrible infection and was ingrown into his flesh.
Baloo’s deteriorating condition contributed to the only period of time the trio have been separated in over 15 years. Baloo required surgery to remove the harness that was choking him. While Baloo was separated from his two friends they became very vocal and paced back and forth. Both Leo the Lion and Shere Khan the Tiger did not like being separated from their friend.
Baloo’s surgery was successful, and they have been inseparable ever since. Shere Khan the Tiger is known as the mischievous of the 3. He often pounces on his two unsuspecting friend. Leo the lion is the group sleeper. He likes to make sure the group gets enough sleep, so sometimes he takes extra naps for his friends. Then you have Baloo the bear, they say he’s very relaxed and confident but he loves the food. Baloo is known to do whatever it takes to get a tasty treat!
If 3 completely different animals can get along fine for 15 years with little to know quarreling, why can’t we humans?
